Unhappy She was a good chip...

    *sniff* *sniff*

    AMD K6II 450 2.4v

yeah, everyone of her beautiful 500Mhz were dedicated to performance. i'll always remember the good times. i'll always remember the long nights, having her pass countless .exe's and .dll's from hard drive to memory and then pass back from memory to hard drive....

    *sniff*

but she went quietly, after nearly a year. i would say she's irreplaceable but i'm not gonna lie! so .... i'm up for suggestions, and who better to ask. i've got my eye on a K7, and from everything i've seen and heard i don't think i'll be disappointed in the least bit. input is definitely welcome.

    *sigh*

My brother, k62-266, died about 3 months ago. He was such a strong kid, he could pump out 450mhz with his girlfriend, the 30w peltier. They were in their porsche 911 turbo one night carrying WindowsNT in the backseat (30w peltiers evil younger brother) and they suddenly hit a patch of pebble rocks, and flew off the bridge into the water. The water, of course, killed my brother. His girlfriend survived, and the evil younger brother walked away without a scratch. I still keep my brothers ashes in a nice plastic case, where I can look at him and how strong yet small he was *cries*

    Cool

psyklone Hi well the first 450's were 2.4 volt models that where not much moe than factory overclocked 400's the new AFX 450's are 2.2volt models that are in my opinion factory undermaked 500's out of the box mine did 500mhz at 5.0 x 100 2.2volts and is now at 550mhz 5.0 x 110 @ 2.5 volts on a asus P5A-B mobo with 64 meg of cheap PC-100 memery a voodoo3 2000 and extras
it is probably the best chip for the money right now
NOTE : you can still get both chips so make sure you get the AFX 2.2volt model

scotter ---> ahhh yes, i was aware of the 2.4 volt and the 2.2 volt versions but i had never heard the 2.2 referred to as an AFX. neato mosquito! that chip definitely sounds like it has potential. i'll have to go pick one up today. thanks for the recommendation!
