well for a 366 you'd probably want an oem malaysian chip sl36c chip. also you'd probably want to look for a week 30+ to give yourself a good chance a 550. for a mobo if you don't want ata66 then you might want to look at the soyo6ba+3 mobo. great mobo and it only runs $90 at www.mwave.com good luck I've got a week 41 and it's running at 605 right now.

I'll have to agree with Bigslammer.
Any c366 over week 30 is a good canidate for 550. Don't forget a big heatsink/fan and thermal paste. Don't scrimp on memory. Cheap PC100 chips will give you greif.

The BF6 is a better buy then the SY-6BA+III right now (just 8 bucks more for a whole bunch more FSB's). (yep..Its AEdge the Soyo-pusher . Gotta be totally objective tho)

The softmenuIII is quite a work of art! It has one less DIMM ad ISA slot and one more PCI slot. Not to bad a tradeoff in my opinion...that softmenus great tho to tweak out the CPU to the last FSB..totally tips the scales singlehandedly. Also the Stability on the BF6 and BE6-II has been vastly improved (or so Ive heard)

    www.Pricewatch.com keyword search 'BF6' for $98 pricetag.

ANY PC100's should be adequate for his needs (you can clock up to 550 with that celeron 366 with just any PC100). Checking for a specific week may be a hassle, but you can always cross your fingers .

Most 366's hit at last 457 (83x5.5), even the older ones. The new ones have a very good chance of 550 (100x5.5).

Dont forget to get a nice huge fan to clock it or else its not going anywhere! (FDP32 recommended ). Check out www.2cooltek.com for these babys, n dont forget the heatsink grease aka thermal compound, if it doesnt come with it.
