    Suggestions

I've got a hole burning in my pocket plus I am starting to get dissatisfied with the performance of my celery 300A @ 464 (I need more speed!). I would like a suggestion for a new cpu that I could overclock. Preferably a celeron but I will not rule out a pentium III. Money is a factor because I have not planted my money tree yet.

Plus what do you think of STEP-Thermodynamics. Are they really good, or is it all talk.

Thank you much. This message board might replace the thirdgen camaro/firebird board as my favorite!

STEP-Thermodynamics RAM really sucks and I mean sucks, so don't get it. However, try their overclocked processers cause their prices are low and there's a life time warranty on them.

P3-450's can usually do 558 (124x4.5) but you have to make sure your peripherals can handle that high bus speed. P3-500's can do 560 with ease and 620 (124x5) sometimes, but again watch the high bus. As for celerons, the 366 is always a best buy (go with the pretested, the percentage of chips that will do 550 isnt worth the risk).

Well actually my friend and me were going to be dual 366's pretested at 550, for his Abit BP6, but instead when we bought the BP6 we ended up just getting a single 366 untested for about half the price of a pretested, and it goes to 550, boots windows and all, at 1.9volts, I gotta burn it in at 2.1 prolly, but 1.9 sure is good for right out of the static bag. This is without thermal compound, hes running it at 5.5 x 90 right now, not sure why, he picked it lol, soon as we get a nice Globalwin and such, ill have it at 550.

    dash,

I also have 366 out of the static bag untested running 550@2v. So tell your friend to change that setting to 100FSB asap cuz I think 90fsb (1/2)in BP6 is overclocking it way up in the spec scale. My other cpu on my BP6 could only run 92fsb (1/3), 92 is the lowest fsb (1/3) and it is better than 90 or 91 on BP6.
