    Please, if you can help....

    Found a deal on this video card at a local shop. (Also have this post in the video forum but traffic seems to be greater here with knowledge.)

    I have a GA-5AX Super 7 socket board running a k63 450. I was reading the manual and it stated that it Supports fully AGP 1.0 specifications. Does this mean that I cannot run a viper 770 ultra? Because that card requires a 2.0 compliant slot. Not sure what to think. If you think this is a bios issue, does anyone know where to find the upgrade? I really want the ultra card.

    Advice deeply appreciated.

    It WILL run the card but only at AGP 1x. I run my AGP 1x Permedia on the PCI bus speed because of heat problems and it works. Don't worry, you can always take the card back if it doesn't work.

    Ive heard that older boards have problem supplying enough power to the AGP slot..I thougth that had to do with AGP 1.0

    My board specs say that it will support x2. So does this make a difference?
