what are you guys using for cooling on cel 366?
im building a comp for my brother, and trying to get everything priced here. just wondering what everyone is using to cool a celeron 366 when they overclock to 558 (or whatever it was) that i seem to see a lot of - is it like, a peltier or something, or just a big assed heatsink/fan?

Try Computernerd's FA6EXB (www.computernerd.com) It's a huge puppy made by GlobalWin, & costs 20 bucks with shipping. I run one on a K6-2 450 OC'd to 500 & it keeps things nice & cool. Fits Socket 7 & 370 cpu's, & comes with thermal paste. I think you can get this fan/sink in a Peltier model too--AWESOME! :-)

For 22 bucks, u can get the FDP32 over at www.2cooltek.com . Im not sure if it will fit on a Slot1 board with converter, and I know it doesnt fit on a BP6, but its the king of cooling for the S370 CPU's on BM6's and ZM6's...and its WAY bigger than the other one. Its a bit TOO huge..so if u can shell out a lil more ($24) u can get it at http://www.3dfxcool.com/ for the same thing, but with a 30 day money back guarentee..the model name from 3dfxcool is BigMoFoHO-FAN.

Lost1 is right, I've got the peltier model (don't know the exact #) and it works great! That is, if your into peltier's, some people are scared of them.

Hey Dr! First of all go to www.overclockers.com and look up the ppga celeron 366 week numbers. You will notice that after about week 20, most of them will overclock with only standard cooling and voltage (2.0v). Buy on of the latest chips (week 25+) and you can be pretty sure of 550 or 567. I personally was handed a week 17 366 cpu which needed a burn in at 2.5v before it would even run stable at 2.4v. I am using a massive pentium pro heatsink and a large 20.5cfm fan. If you go for the later chips, you don't need to be silly with cooling. Units like the alphas or FDP32s will probably just be overkill. Happy overclocking
