plz need urgent help on this one my cpu reaches a 112F

hmm is 112F to hot for my PII 300 no O/C i think its wierd because the temp is increasing and it used to run at around 80-90F but not any more i havent pluged in any new drives or cards im using mbm 4 to measure the temp can i trust the progg or ??
il give u guys some info on my system

PII 300MHZ on a elitegroup P6BA-A+ mobo
128mb pc 100 memory
stb velecity 4400 TNT RIVA
voodoo2 12mb
6,4gb harddrive 7,200 rpm
1case fan and two CPU fans

what is causing all this heat

and how can i get rid of it ive ordered 2cardcoolers from thecardcooler im hoping this will help but what if it doesent ??

Thats not an unreasonable temp actually. Intel specs their CPUs to run at 80 deg C, so a measely 112deg F is not likely to effect it.

Best thing you can do is maybe one CardCooler for your peace of mind, mounted so it also circulates air around the CPU. Then make sure your case airflow is good, with at least one good intake fan (normally lower front) and the power supply fan set to "blow" rather than "suck" (heh... so it blows hot air out of the case)

You should be fine.

I would see if the heatsink is in propor place. Sounds to me like its not.

well the heatsink is hmm whats it called bulted onto the cpu so i cant remove it it seems unlikly that it would come lose ive checked for any cables that could be hindering the airflow but its totaly clear inside and all my fans are working and still the temp rises everyday maybe it something wrong with the CPU ?

Not Overclocked and that hot? Sounds like you might be having some money comming from the warantee, perhapse you could afford a few Celerons.

really.. i would stop ya whinging... its not really that hot.. maybe a little... but if ya system is running fine... why complain?
maybe just get a extra fan or 2 if ya paranoid....

It's more likely the thermister that senses the temp is going bad! Thats more common.

If the CPU was suddenly heating up, I think a lot of other symptoms would catch your eye first... like 'lockin up' or not booting or something else...

My PII-450 not O/C runs at 127°F or 42°C.

My system runs continuous without being turned off, and I run the RC5-64 client also.

I have no trouble running at this temperature, so I wouldn't worry about yours.

112F is fine, be carefull of 112C though.
