Happy Over-clocker camper
OK, so I got my hands on a celeron week 47 Costa Rica. Wasnt sure if it was going to overclock but what the hay! It was only $67.
Then while picking up my ABIT BX6-2 ($119) they guy told me he had one P-II 333 SL2TV that does the 522 dance. How much I asked!
$200 Ooooo steep but I went for it.
Got home, popped the abit board in and hmmmm which one should I try first. OK the P-II.
Yep! Runs great at 500 2.0v all right.
Cranked it up in turbo to 522
Yep! does it but soon crashes.
Up goes the voltage to 2.1. Yep crashes (unreal flyby).
Up to 2.2v Yep it runs cool!
Should I dare try 560! Sure...... NO POST bummer. ah well, I am a happy clocker.
OK, it's celeron time! Took out the P-II and popped the case off it to see what it had for caache. YEP! 4 ns cache. Thats why she does the 500 dance so nicely...
OK, the celery is in. Here we go :-)))))
450 no problem and at 2.0 v Unreal flyby stable!
Turbo mode, yep the celery is taking it.
504 NOPE! darn..
Crank up the volts to 2.1 Yep but it crashes on unreal again. Here we go up to 2.2. Solid as a rock! cool.
However, that celery gets real hot. Gonna have to install a blowhole!
So, here is what I have decided. run the 333 at 500 as it aint worth the extra 22mhz for the heat. She runs great at 2.0 @ 500mhz.
Get a another abit Bx6-2 (awesome board) and bring up a celery.
As I said a lucky and happy over clocker.
