New to overclocking need Help !!
Hello can any one tell me how I can overclock my K6 200 to 233 and is tit safe to do that???? do I just change the jumper settings??
how about the 200 runs on 2.9v and 233 on 3.2v ?
does that change automatic????
I have GA-586ATX motherboard
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much !!

No the voltage does not change auto, but u might need to raise it manually (look in ur manual for jumper settings). U need to have a BIG heatsink/fan combo, but go for it!
Yes just change the jumper settings, but look out for how hot it gets! Good luck

First of all Overclocking is never "safe" you're running your CPU faster than the company recommended, but most of the time nothing is really hurt by it.
Then all you need to do is change your FSB or clock multiplier settings... I'm not sure if AMD has locked the multiplier settings or not - I personally prefer Intel...
The K6 200 will be using 66X3 right now, so you want to either change the clock multiplier to 3.5 if you can, or change the Bus speed to 75 if it's available on your motherboard. (not all motherboards have settings for bus speeds over 66Mhz.)
If you run it at 75X3 you'll get 225Mhz.
If you go with 66X3.5 you'll get 233Mhz.
either one will give you a speed increase, but 75X3 will probably be slightly faster because you're increasing the speed between your CPU and your RAM. If you can, keep the current voltage setting, lower is always better because the CPU won't run as hot.
