    CPU temp monitoring HOW?

    Oh another question please....
The abit bx6-2 has built in temp monitoring for the internal case and the CPU. However, the CPU never changes from 32c. The manual says nothing about this anywhere I could find.
I found a drawing that shows a connector for an external probe but no wording on what kind or where to get one.

Any ideas? I want to read my CPU temp.

    Thanks,
    Bob

Abit will be including the approptiate "probe" in future shipments. A BIOS revision will blank the CPU Temp display if nothing is connected.

That doesn't help the rest of us.

The part is Radio Shack 271-110A 10K Thermistor. Wire it to the RT2 header and locate the pickup as close to the center of the heatsink as possible - ideally embedded to make contact with the CPU.

Roy thanks! Cool. I am gonna run right out and get one. Yea.. your right. I just flashed with the new bios ver JH, and the temp for the CPU now says N/A instead of 32c.
