    Sort of new to overclocking

It's time to upgrade and overclock again. So I want to overclock a PII 300 or 333 to
the max. How fast can bus speed go until the fastest memory gives in? Or for that
matter can you reduce the PCI bandwidth for those video/sound cards that just can't
keep up on these new (to me) motherboards? Any particular suggestions on brands of
motherboards, memory types or best PII model to overclock? I had to learn all this the hard way with my MMX (but I was lucky mostly)and I've kind of lost touch with the scene. Many thanks for any help provided.

    Go with the celeron 300a and a BX6 (2)
It will cost you less than a PII300 or 333 and run almost as fast (450 or 464 if lucky)
and with the BX6 (2) new settings I have heard of around 472 mhz. Either way go with the BX6(2)by Abit. Good luck

Here's two good sites that can answer your memory question:

    http://bxboards.com/sdram.shtml

    http://www.pc100.com/

And two places to get quality memory:

    http://www.mushkin.com/cgi-bin/Mushkin.storefront/1751617673/Catalog

    http://www.minotaur.com/

Regarding PCI bandwidth: I think each expansion card is governed by the PCI bus and they cannot be adjusted individually -- just my ignorant guess.

Thanks wily, it had all the information I was after. Now I have to make a real decision.
