    CPU FAN PLUG????????????

I just got my 166mHz cpu in the mail, cuz i am upgrading from a 75. It seems that there is no socket on my motherboard or anywhere on my computer for the fan to be plugged into. (there is a built in fan right above the location of the chip that sucks air away from the cpu area, but it is about 3inches above it).

    Three questions....
Is it safe to use the 166 without a fan (just the built in fan and heatsink)?

Is it possible that my computer has NO sockets for a fan?, cuz the 75 didnt need it (it is a COMPAQ PRESARIO 5528)

Is there anything else I can use to power this fan?

    I am very frustrated.

All help is greatly appreciated!!! Thanx.

Just get a little extension cable (or a "Y" adaptor) for the power cable going to any drive, and splice into it. The yellow and a black will give you the 12v the fan probably wants, if I remember correctly. The red and a black will give you 5v. Good luck.
