Celeron 300@450 on P2b doesn't boot win98
If I set my celeron 300a @ 4.5 * 100 (450) it doesn't boot up win98. I can do 4.5 * 83 (375) but it is posible to set it to 450.
What must I do?

I am experiencing the same problem.. I have heard several version to solve them ..
1. Mine Celeron is OEM, I heard Retail one is way better chance..
2. I have read that if you change your SDRAM setting in BIOS from "by SPD" to "8ns (125Mhz) it will work
I tried #2, I still get an explor error while booting in win98, NT so far works fine.

I use an Abit BH6 mobo, but my Costa Rican OEM 300A does 450 just fine but it didn't until I took the thermal tape off the heatsink and replaced it with thermal compound. The heatsink is barely warm to the touch at this speed. I've not tried 464 or 504 yet and won't until I install another fan in my case.
I hear that a lot of the PC100 memory out there is not truly PC100 compliant. Mine must be because it's working very well for me. Have you tried reseating your SDRAM in a different slot? I hear this sometimes makes the difference.
Also, you may need to raise the voltage to the CPU. I had to go with 2.2 volts rather than the default 2.0 volts. I tried 2.1 but it was just a little unstable. This is a little harder to do on an Asus board.
Good luck with it...
