CPU Idle
I installed CPU Idle v.5.2 with a motherboard monitor. The motherboard temp is about 28 - 32C with CPU Idle enabled and disabled.
I have a Celeron 350A w/Abit BX6 mobo and am running WIN98. Is it worth the $20 for this utility? I'm a little reluctant to send my credit number. DO you know if web site is secure?

Hmmmm...a 350a? If you like the program and you find value to it then buy it.
-
Ooops. I mean a 300A overclocked to 450.
-
Well,
It does not seem to work for you since there no change in temp. There are other progys that do the same type of thing. I would try those out first then deside which is best.
One to check out is called waterfall but I am not sure where to get it. If I find out I will post it here.

Waterfall can be downloaded @ http://www.hardware-fr.com/fichiers/waterfall123.zip
Rain is more efficient than waterfall and can be downloaded here @ http://www.hardware-fr.com/fichiers/rain10.zip
From the Rain faq:
"The following comparison chart helps you understand the difference between Rain & Waterfall.
Waterfall Rain
System
Performance Excellent Excellent
Cooling
Performance Excellent Very Good
Secure
Performance Very good Excellent
Memory
requirement 300KB 300KB
CPU Monitor No Yes "
"Q: What's the difference between Rain and Waterfall?
A: Rain is the most efficient CPU cooling software there is. With Rain,
you can expect your temperature decrease to be greater than with Waterfall.
Waterfall however is more secure (that doesn't mean that Rain is buggy or
will crash all the time, but Waterfall is more difficult to crash). Waterfall
also has some additional features such as CPU busy state checking and a CPU
monitor, which are not avalible in Rain. "

Thanks Malcom88,
I just started running Rain and there is a big improvement in temps for me, it knocked off several degrees.
