New 300A Boxed Retail running at 464Mhz
Running:
Soyo 6BA+ (OnSale Auction special)
64MB Micron Tech. RAM, CAS2
Retail Celeron ordered from Multiwave Technology 2/9/99, brand new...pack date is 1/9/99. SL2WM from Malaysia, batch number 98490038.
2.0 volts.
Will boot dos at 504, won't do Win98, locks at splash screen. Not too worried about going faster, I'd have to cover pins with tape to increase the voltage on this board.
At 464 the CPUmark99 is 39.4
Still messing with settings, but it's running great! The memory is set as fast as it will go, MT makes great memory.
Processor temp is 31.5C, system temp is a steady 20C. BTW the ATX power supply is blowing out, stock Intel fan and heatsink, big 6" fan blowing air in the bottom, smaller 4" fan blowing out the top above the power supply. Case is all sealed up and quiet. Well, as quiet as 4 drives and 4 fans can be...hehe.
I also have an OEM coming. I'll post the results.
Also, thanks to whoever recommended Multiwave as vendor. They were great, no delays with e-mails to let you know the status of the order with tracking number. I'd recommend them.

Congratulations.
Enjoy your new computer. How many are you planning to built? Are they all for your RC5 cracking effort?

Thanks...
Actually, I picked up a OEM 300A on an auction site for $79.00...but I'm still waiting. The motherboard came in and I couldn't wait, so I ordered the retail version.
Also ordered a Glacier 4500C fan that hasn't arrived on my doorstep either...hmmm. I'll put the OEM and Glacier setup in this system and try it out...then sell or trade the OEM since I don't need 2 Celerons. I ordered a couple of Peltiers too, I may do some playing around with those if I can dump the heat out of my case fast enough.
FYI, I reversed the fan on the power supply to blow into the case. My CPU temp went up 5 degrees F, case temp shot up about 10 degrees F. Guess I'll be putting it back.
BTW, I've been running Quake II, while downloading stuff off the net in the background, trying everything I can to break this thing and it won't crash. I guess the Soyo 6BA+ is a good board. I was hoping for more of a challenge, but no complaints.
