how high will Celeron 466 go?

How high will you be able to Overclock the new Celeron 466a with the .18 micron? Is it worth the wait or should I just get the Celeron 300a?

Oh yeah, If I want to use a 100Mhz. bus, do I need PC100 RAM or can I use my old SDRAM. I have a high quality brand running at 9 or 10ns...

    1. Assuming 466 = 7x66, the choices are 7x75 = 525 and 7x83 = 581.

525 will be common, a small percentage will go 581. Forget 700 without liquid nitrogen cooling.

Wait? It all depends how long. 300As are cheap, you could use one to learn the ropes. Then get the 466 on the first price drop.

A 300A at 450 (highly probable) would give you a good reference when you jump to 525.

Or just wait and experience the jump to light speed all at once! Get a BX6 v2.0 if you haven't picked a board.

    2. Start with the ram you have. My "premium 66" handles 112MHz. Learn what the numbers really mean before you buy any more. Consider getting the very best. It will carry you into the next generation like my 66s did.
