Maxx, I think you need to read a bit more.
I know for a fact that the Celerons are not the best OC chips out in the market now. Its the P2-300 and P2-333 (deschutes core) that can go to 500mhz and beyond very easily. what does IRELAND have to do with anyting? well, thats where the Chip was made, and thats a big hont for those who are shearching for these RARE chips. Celerons are great Overclockers, but 20% of them don't even post at 450, and they only reach 375. The reason why so many people are jumping on the celerons because they are bloody cheap. $65-80 US compared the a P2-450 at the same speed? you can buy 4 Celery chips for one P2-450 and 8 out if 10 chips will guarantee a 450mhz computer. So why not? The only reason why P2-300s and P2-333 aren't getting alot of shouts is because these chips have been discontinued off the market. Your lucky if you can find one at your retailer cuz 90% of these babys can post at 504mhz. A lower number for 558 but still! thats better than the Celeron. I will trade my 464 for it anyday.

I agree DEX,
the PII 300 retail will give you a 504 machine and most of the time with stock volts{week37}2 of them
Celeron 333 at 500{week 49 and week 47}stock volts.
The newer ones I have not been as lucky with.

I don't know about 500mhz on a P2-333 (deschutes core), I have one and tried it at 500/100 with 2.00v core and it would not boot. However it runs at 400/100 with 2.00v core very nicely.
-
i got two of those. definitely a project to take on...i'll let you know when i can get a box set up to try that....
-
What kind of boards are you guys running these on? And when you say it runs nicely, does that mean it's stable as well as fast?
-
Sky,
Mine runs at 400/100 core 2.00v on a BH6 at 92F normal but will go up to 98F at high usage. I am getting a peltier-heatsink-fan combo, hopefully that will drop it a few degrees. It is very stable thus far at these temps, I did notice the first couple of times I rebooted after changing to this speed that windows explorer would cause a page fault. Like I said, it only happend the first couple of reboots and I have not experienced it since.

sorry guys stil not sold, what you are talknig about is a 70% preformace jump of both the 300 and the 333 and i still think that is really high.
Oh and what is the record for the most replys on 1 post? We have to be getting close
