200mmx O/C 233 on 5ehm, boot shows 200?
Hello outthere
Just curious about something. I decided to o/c my old 200mmx on my soyo 5ehm and strapped it up to 233 and the boot info still says 200. However I noticed some improved performance over the 200. Shouldn't the boot up show 233 instead of 200?
regards
Magnus
ps I'm swapping the 200 for a k6-2 300 any day so this was just an experiment for fun.

Many of the Intel 200MMX chips are multiplier locked, only way to overclock these chips is by raising the bus speed. Mine was the same as yours, I upped multiplier to 3.5 and it still posted at 200. BTW, I have an AMD k6-2 300 which I am selling, still under warranty.
Email me if you are interested, $50.00.
