    "Compeq" and heatsink/fan

    I've just purchased at Celeron 300a and does anyone know what "compeq" means? And does a OEM 300a come with a heatsink/fan?

    COMPEQ is the company that manufactured the PCB. No, the OEM version doesn't come with a fan.

    I've got the w8 (Costa Rica;OEM) and it came with a heatsink/fan (a -speed) Why is that?

    Intel changed the rules of the game and began packaging the former OEM, SL2WM's for retail sale. If it's a later week chip, you probably have one of these.

    So, technically speaking, you don't have an OEM, you have a retail. Does the fan have the Intel hologram in the center?

    No Russ it havenīt , its got the mark A-speep, both on the heatsink & the fan, is that odd?
