    300a-malay-slot1-sl2wm-retail box

Hi just gor 2 new 300a retails (malay)
both have thermal goo between heatsink/cpu!
Is this normal (thought they all use tape?)
One has clover leaf other has compeq, is there really any difference? Have not run them yet. Will post results later.
will be running them on 2 new BH6's with 6ns PC-100 64 mb ram.

No, they use grease on these. Sometimes they don't cover the whole surface area, though.

SL2WM are Intel repacked new Retail version slot 1 Celerons. They used to be OEM version.

I would recommend the thermal paste. The tape isn't as effective.

Shoot me an email when you get the chips tested. I might buy a Malay chip in the next couple of days, but I'd like to know how yours work out.

Well guys the clover leaf one runs at 450 2.0v no problems. The compeq WILL NOT run at 450. now stable at 374. How dissapointing, from a retail malay box. I sugest getting oem chips from now on.( have 3 other oem's running at 450 2.0v to 2.2v) * ran all possible fixes for the compeq 300a.
Note: this chip also runs hot, sandra 98 says it runs at 96f! all my other chips run at 80f to 85f. even tried this chip on 2 other BH6's with same results.
