Monitoring system temp on desktop in Win98, can it be done?
I just installed a BH6 motherboard and noticed a system temp display in the bios.
Does anyone know of a progy that will allow you to view the system temp in Win98?
Thanks

Probably,
Since the BIOS has code to read the temp all a person would have to do is write a Win32 GUI app (e.g. C++,Java) that does a little inline ASM to call the BIOS routine to fetch the temp.
I just got a BH6 and was going to do this myself. The hard part will be trying to find the BIOS function that fetches the temp.

I think I ran across a program that sits in your icon tray and tells you the temp for those MB's, you might try a search for temp monitors or even the particular temp monitor chip (i.e. mine is a winbond).

Here is a Program that will put your temp on the taskbar! Try this also it may be what you are looking for.(http://www.euronet.nl/users/darkside/mbmonitor/) Hope that helps. Jim

Roy,
I found the temp monitor at
http://www.euronet.nl/users/darkside/mbmonitor/
Its puts a little digital like degree reading in your system tray next to the clock. Your can set it to show either cel or far degrees.
