Overclocking Difference in Win95 & Win98
I Own a Abit BX6 board with a simple 233 Proc. When i overclocked it to 3.5 * 83 (291Mhz) it worked GREAT on Windows 95. But when running on Windows 98, my PC hangs just before going to the grafical interface of Windows. I just can seem to get above 4 * 66 (266Mhz) on Windows 98. I can't even DOWNGRADE the Proc. Can anybody tell me WHY this is and how to get around this problem.
Thanks.

Try runnig some apps. on your Win95 System.
Something like Unreal...
If it hangs you have to clock it down to 266.
I don't think it could be a problem of Win98 when your PC hangs.
Did you change only you OS or some components like RAM or so on too?

Just a ? Did you turn off Speed error Hold?
Also you may need to raise the Voltage ?
My P2-233@anything over 233-336 i have to raise the voltage to 2.9-3.0. To run at 350
i have to raise it to 3.1 volts. Hope that helps. Jim
