Geforce 2 problems

Do they both do this right after boot-up or do they run awhile and then go goofy ??? My first thought was they were getting hot.

Need some help on this

I have two geforce 2 cards, an MSI Starforce 8831 (Pro 64mb ddr) and a Cardxpert 64MB ddr PRO. Both are giving me problems. The MSI one completely locks up the system when trying to run 3d games. The colors just get all screwed up and the system locks up. I tried using different drivers but nothing helped. I didn't flash BIOS. The Cardxpert one does work, kinda, but whenever I view pictures in 2d or play any games I see these random tiny dots appear all over the screen at random locations. What can the problem/solution be? My system is:
Epox 8k7a mobo
1.2ghz non-o/clocked t-bird 266fsb
crucial ddr ram, 256
fortissimo 2 sound card
ibm 60xgp deskstar hd
windows 98 se

Any help would be appreciated.
