Running the Via KL133 at 133

    Hi

I have one of the new Asus AVL-VM boards based on the KL133, which apparently only goes to 100 Mhz. However, J1 does have a 133 Mhz setting, which I'm not really sure works. If I put it to 133, will I fry the mobo/CPU/chipset/RAM? And will I get the theoretical 997 Mhz? I'll also appreciate cooling solutions, I'm not sure the current h/s and fan can take it, they;re already running at 52/53 celsius...

I'm running a Duron 750 with 256 megs of 133 capable RAM, and an ATA-66 7200 RPM 8 GB drive (hell, it was hot technology two years back...)

    Thanks in advance,

    Sang

You can try it. The worse that can happen is that the system wont boot. That board has a jumper free mode, correct? Useing that feature will make it much easier to O/C. The TaiSol CGK760092 and ThermalRight SK6 are great coolers that don't cost an arm and a leg. Have a look at the Heatsink Factory .
