    avi to dvd

    where can i find free software to transfer movies that i download on to a cd to be able to watch them from my dvd player in my tv room (not the dvd player with my computer)

    i dont know about free, but nero is cheap. if your dvd player can do a video cd, nero can make them on a cd burner

    Depends on what you're looking for...First
    off...If you're going to convert .AVI to .DVD
    you're going to need a DVD-R drive...which
    ain't cheap...You can convert .AVI to VCD
    format (mpeg1/2) which you can play on most
    DVD Players...TMPGenc, AVI2MPG2, DVD2MPG,
    SmartRipper, are some of the stuff I use...
    Just do a search at Dogpile for DVD Ripping
    and you'll find plenty of info...Remember
    whether it's an .AVI/.MPG/.MOV doesn't really
    matter...it's the quality that counts. If it
    is pretty trashy to start with you won't
    be able to convert it...It do get complicated

    rip most of your movies to Divx if you can
