Try going into the bios and setting the cdrom as first boot device. Put the 2k cd in the drive and start up the computer. It should boot from the cd and go into install.

I've never installed 2k onto a new HDD, I dont think you need to format it beforehand, that is unless you want more than one partition.

Win2k should have come with 4 floppy startup disks that you should use to boot initially.

Also, that mobo does not have drivers for the RAID controller in w2k, so connect the hard disk to IDE 1 or 2 to load W2K. After the OS is loaded and works you can get the new driver from www.highpoint.com. W2k setup will run a hardware compatibilty check to see if other stuff needs special drivers too.

Try putting the hard disk you plan to install the OS on the standard IDE channels first, not the HPT370 controller. By booting with the CDROM, you have an option to load the driver for "Mass Storage Device", but I've found that not to work too reliably from time to time. After you've installed the OS, load the drivers for the HPT370 controller in Device Manager and shut the system down. After the system has been shut down, connect the hard disk you installed Win2k back to the HPT370 controller and your OS should boot just fine!
