Compaq Modem 56K-DF and Windows 2000
Working on a PC here that the client decided to let his friend install W2k on.
Afterwards his Compaq Modem (described as 56K-DF in the device manager)shows the following error in device manager.
"THIS DEVICE IS DISABLED BECAUSE THE FIRMWARE OF THE DEVICE DID NOT
GIVE
IT THE REQUIRED RESOURCES. (Code 29)"
From what i have read at compaqs support site and in another newsgroup, is that Compaq doesnt support W2K with the presario line.
Some of the posts i read mentioned that they tried going to the modem manufacturers website, and tried using soem generic Lucent drivers, but no luck.
Anyone got any ideas?
