Remote port monitoring
I am wondering if it is posible for someone to watch me on my home computer from my work....i think there is a guy at work that is watching my traffic on my dsl at home...i am running WIN ME at home on dsl.....and he is at the office on OC3 and a debian linux kernal....there is no VPN and no back orfice type programs on my system....
I take it that this guy is part of your work's IT department? What makes you think that he's monitoring your traffic? Unless you're under suspicion of doing something illegal involving your work place, I don't see why this dude would even care. Do you connect with any of your company's servers from home?
It is possible. Do you have zone alarm installed on your home computer. If you don't install it. Then only let IE on to the inter net. If something else jumps up trying to get on the inter net. Find out what it is.
What programs have you used to look for back orfice type programs. I use The Cleaner. To look for that type of programs.
The Cleaner is a shareware program. So you only have 30 days on a free trail.
There are programs out there to track a persons movements on the net. I can't remember where I have seen them. If I find the site agin. I'll give you a link to it. your dsl is on a static ip address. It would make it easyer for someone to follow you around.
no ...i don't have any thing to do with work from home....yes he is in the IT deptment...and he is looking for somehting to spread around about me....and he has said things to me about him watching me....and i am just not real happy about not knowing if that is a posibility.....
