    Answer these questions:
    1.What kind of computer do you have?
    2.What version of Windows do you have?
    3.Have you changed or added anything to your computer just before it started acting up?
    I may not be the one to help you fix the problem you have,but,having the info I asked for,may help someone else familiar with your problem get to the bottom of it.

    Thanks for the advice. Here goes
    1 - Win98SE 2 - My system is built aladdin V AGPmb, AMDk6-2/500, Riva TNT card, 56K Blaster modem, Creative Live, 30g WD 7200, Ethernet card, Win98SE. And yes I just downloaded some MP3 sites, the only problem is I don't remember exactly which one gave me an error msg. And of course I didn't write it down. :~/

    HELP!!!! can't shut down windows

    When I go to shutdown all I get is a blink and nothing happens.

    Win98se had a shutdown problem that was fixed with a patch that you can get here .Id try that first and then unload those mp3 sites and reload them one at a time and see if the prob resurfaces.HTH
