Video card and Audio card clash

Recently I bought FIC VB 601 -V MBD. I have PII 300, 192 MB RAM, Elsa Victory Erazor, SB PCI 128, F=MA network card. All cards are PCI. If I connect both video & audio cards I can't see any thing even the memory check. But PC appears to boot. If I use just one card (either video or audio) everthing works fine. I tried changing spots of cards. The network card work fine with either.

Anybody has any clue what might be going wrong. My cards require Allocate IRQ for VGA to set Yes. I have done that.

I do know that FIC had a problem with supplying enough voltage to some of there mobo. You might contact them and ask if this is your problem as well. Also did you try a different Vcard with your sound card to see if it would boot?

I think HotRod is right on! My first though was IRQ's. But it sounds more like not enough juice!

Does your bios support assign Irq's to pci slots. I have a Award bios v460 that lets me assign the PCI slots to AUTO or you can pick the Irq for each slot. my sound card and Display card did the same thing and I had to manually assign the IRQ's

I have tried with another vodeo card Jaton 8665(not sure). It works with the sound card. I have sent a question to the vendor.
Just in case if voltage is the problem is there a cure other than replacing the mbd?

I have AMI bios. Yesterday I updated my bios to 6.17 version. It does not allow me to set the IRQ. I can reserve IRQ from 3 to 15 to either PCI/PnP or ISA/EISA.

If the mobo is a low voltage board, the only way to find out that I know of is get in touch with FICs tech support. I was disappointed in the fact that I had just bought the VooDoo 3 to build the system for my son. I went through it a second time with the same mobo using an ATI 32meg Rage card (at the venders recommendation). What I wound up doing, after I called tech support at FIC, was changing to a 8meg ATI Expert98 card (FICs recommendation) as this is one of the few cards that would run on a low voltage mobo and everything worked fine.
