    no jepg or gif

    Unable to open gif or jpj. bmp in paint is working fine. I am not sure if the file association is wrong or if a exe. file is missing or??????????

    Need some more info, which applications are you experiencing problems with ?, what are your specs ?.

    Using Windows Explorer, locate a .jpg file on your hard drive then highlight it by clicking on it once. Now right click on that file again while holding down <Shift>, and choose Open With... Select the program you wish to view the file with from the list, or click Browse to select another program. If you check the box labeled; Always use this program to open this file, it will reassociate that file type with the program you chose. If that works, repeat the procedure for .gifs. If it doesn't work, you may have corrupt program file.

    If you fix it let me know. I have lost my ability to view any .jpg files.

    Thanks Fingers--your trick worked, the program I had been using before must have been something other than what is on the list of choices I have now, before the icon was something else,but atleast I can open now.......Thanks
