computer lock ups
o All:
My computer is doing a funny thing. The computer locks up for about a second, then returns normal then locks up. The lock up occurs even when I just turn on the computer without running any programs. This problems continues all the time. First I thought it was my software and formatted my hd. Updated my bios. Reinstalled new drivers. The problem remains. Now i have taken out all my PCI cards. I only have my Diamond nvidia TNT2 32 MB AGP installed and my Tekram SCSI card.
Now i'm thinking it's hardware. So I think it may be my powersupply, motherboard, processor, videocard, or my scsi card that's the problem. If anyone has a suggestions please reply. Thank you all and hope y'all have a less frustrating day.
Soyo Tek SY-6VBA 133
Pentium III 500 mhz
128 MB pc133 ram
Diamond nvidia TNT2 32 mb
Tekram 396UW scsi card.
Sincerely,
H

Make sure you have the latest drivers for the motherboards Via chipset. A computer I build recently sounds like it did the same thing, pause for no apparent reason. I installed the newest drivers and I stoped immediatly.

Did this just suddenly start happening or have you added something and then got the problem? Could be your memory isnt seated properly, causing a fault. I would also make sure all my cabling is seated properly. sorry cant be more help
