    sound problems with games only?

    I have a SB 16 and it plays cd's fine. I try and play a game and it makes a clicking sound. other windows sounds work ok .

    What games do you play specifically?
    And what are the specs on the rest of the Computer.

    Cygnus-X1,

    It is a Gateway 3000E series. 200 mhz, 128 ram. My son actually plays the games , Red Alert, Roller Coaster tycoon and Paintball. Hope this helps!

    Try moving the card to a different slot, it might have be an IRQ problem with some other hardware, otherwise try installing latest drivers available from CL, and reinstalling DirectX ...
