new hard drive set up

I got a new 60 gig drive for christmas. I thoutht I would try to use M/E and 2000 operating systems on what would be the best way to procede. Do I need to Partition the drives , How much? Is this possible?

1. Create a bootable floppy diskette or use a 98 boot disk
2. Place the boot disk into your floppy drive and reboot your system.
3. When you reach the A:\ Prompt, type FDISK.
4. The following prompt will appear <Do you wish to enable large disk support Y/N> Choose Y
5. On the FDISK main menu select 1. Create DOS Partition.
6. On the sub-menu select 1. Create Primary DOS partition.
7. It will ask you if you would like to make the partition the maximum size. Choose Yes if you would like to entire capacity of the drive on one partition (In a FAT 32 environment the partition can be any size). You can still create additional partitions if
you would like to have multiple drive letters.
8. After you have created all the partitions you must reboot your system (keep the boot disk in the
floppy drive).
9. After rebooting, type FORMAT C: /S at the A:\ prompt.
10. Extended partitions must be formatted with the FORMAT <drive> command. DO NOT USE THE /S SWITCH.
11. Remove all diskettes and reboot your system. You should now be at the C:\ prompt.

I would and always do multi part. one for each o/s and others for backs/data ect.
