    Cool beepin whilst bootin' !

Hi, Recently my system has changed the way it starts up. It now takes a lot longer and emits a series of loud beeps along the way (one long , followed by 4 short)...It still gets there eventually but am curious as to why it does this, and if it is a sign of some potential prblems on the way

    thanks

Here's a good link but I'd need to know what mobo and BIOS you have to tell you for sure: http://www.pchell.com/hardware/beepcodes.shtml#phoenix

It is either a video or RAM problem but I am pretty sure it is the video. Try reseating both the video and your RAM. Should take care of any problems.
    Good luck
    Dave
