Media Player and Kernel Audiomixer
I'm experiencing very strange problems with MediaPlayer 6.4. When I open a sound file, Media Player opens, but then gets stuck. I can only press ctrl, alt, del to reboot. Apart from this, there is a more stranger thing going on: when checking the device control, I saw a yellow mark at the "Kernel Audiomixer"??? What is that?? It's standing next to my soundblaster live device in the device panel. When I remove Kernel Audiomixer, reboot and try to open MediaPlayer then all of a sudden it's there again: the Kernel Audiomixer!
So I thought, the best way is to dump the Kernel Audiomixer again and Media Player and download Media Player 7. Perhaps then the problems would be solved..
So I went to the MS side, wanting to see a preview of MediaPlayer 7 and the next thing that happenend was that my computer asked for the Win98 cd rom to look for software for the Kernel Audiomixer!! Can I ever get rid of this stupid thing Kernel Audiothing?? I can't install my webcam also, because of problems with the Kernel Audiomixer. Installing my webcam results in a reply that the webcam isn't correctly installed, because my audiomicrophone can't be found. And looking at the device panel..yeah..there it was again: The Kernel Audiomixer with the yellow mark!! It keeps bugging me and although I removed it from the device, it keeps coming back whenever I try to open a sound file or a file that Media Player has to open, or when I'm trying to install my Webcam.
By the way, I have a pentium 3 processor, 128 Mb Ram, win98 and Internet Explorer 5.5
Help me please, before I will lose my mind!!
