MsWord from Office 97/speller?
Hi,
I was not able to find any software section so I hope someone will still input any suggestion.
The problem is we have several users who require to work in two languages (French Canadian and Englis Canada)in MsWord. For some obscure reason we are not able to change the default language between those two languages. When selecting french as default it return to englis us. And the fun part is when using speller it uses the British speller. I tried deleting the ?.lex file relate to British but then i was not able use english, neither french. In both cases thesaurus will not switch accordingly We did install the patch sr-2. If anyone can solve this or anyone experiment the same please poste or email me. I"m getting desperate. (and yes i did try re-installing.)
Thanks

HI,
I just tried your suggestion and it still select British for Thesaurus when English US is default. Grammar/Speller work ok with language selected.
Anymore suggestion.?
Thanks
-
Yes. I have one more suggestion.
Assuming;
Your using the US version of Word.
You have uninstalled Word and Re-installed.
You didn't delete any .dll or .lex files.
And your having no other errors except this reoccuring symptom.
This may seem a unusual but try doing the following:
Open Control Panel.
Double click Regional Settings.
See that English [United States] is selected.
If it's not, this could be the cause.

Thank you for your quick reply.
And yes i did check the CP/setting language and k/board...just in cas.
I did dis-install and re-install, deleting whatever the uninistall delete or remove. I even copy (or re-copy) proof folder that exist on the cd to the msoffice directory. And still it shows thesaurus with british settings?? This is a real tough one and Billy is not helping us.
Thanks
George
