    Lightbulb Need a Fast Answer

I have a Pentium II processor that I do not know the speed of. I sold one of my computers a while ago and found this chip in my closet. I dont remember what the speed is though. I guess that happens when you have a bunch of chips laying around. On the top it say Intel Pentium II Processor with MMX technology. Then is has a string of numbers. Thay are: 80523py350512pe sl2u3
    08480222-0370 costa rica

Any help would be greatly appreciated. No I dont have a board to try it out in right now as all I use is socket7 and 370's. But I would like to try to sell this thing.

Can't give you a quick answer, but I can tell you where to look. Go to www.ping.be/bios . It's Wim's BIOS page. Definitely a bookmark.

The Numebers are actually on the CPU itself. Not in the bios

It's late and my brain is mush. That last URL was for BIOS. This is Intel's PII processor ID page.

    Give it a shot.

Try this Chainsaw. Let me know how you make out at this site. I have a few others, but this looks most promising.

    socalgal,
You've probably heard of this before, but there's a search program called Copernic that blows away any search engine out there. It's free and available at http://www.copernic.com/ . I work in a college library and once a student needed help finding the exact chemical composition of the Dead Sea. I told him to skip all the fancy databases and we looked it up on Copernic. It took one three-minute search to find the answer. That's how I found the link for Chainsaw. Just that fast.

Still can't find any info on horses in mailboxes, though.

    M_Six, neither have I on Mr. Ed's grand-colt

I saw the Copernic link in your Cool Stuff thread. While I've heard of it, I've never tried it, so.. why not?

    I'll give it a go.

    M_Six,
    Thanks for the memory link!
I'll give it a try and see if it can ID a 72 pin SIMM that I've got.
    Thanks,
