    Lightbulb Windows password

I installed Xteq a while back and of course had to play... I've corrected all the problems since except for the Enter Windows Password request.
Of course Windows lies here. Despite the number of times I have just cancelled it or given a name but no password, it is back every time just before systray loads.
I've been thru my mobo bios settings, no password features enabled there. Same with the Password option in Control Panel, nothing I've seen using Regedit seems to apply, same with Xteq. Using Find for windows password brings up nothing. No mention in any of the msconfig windows.
This is Win98 first edition with all the updates. Any other ideas or something on how it may be disguised?

I am think if you dont have a home network and you remove the client for microsoft networks from the network properties it will go away. I remember setting up my dads machine and I had it connected to my home lan and when he got it home he had the password screen and it was removing the above that got rid of it for him I think if not it was something else in that properties screen.

Thanks, now all I need to know is what's been changing it to msn from windows logon. Seems rebooting sometimes changes it, not always.
At least now I know where to look next time!
