Vortex 2 = NO SOUND ON BOOT UP!!!!

Hello. I have a SQ 2500 Vortex 2 sound card with newest drivers. I get this error message on bootup>
Vortex Dos Driver (2.007)
Error#9: Audio hardware not present or incorrect audio version. Driver not loaded.
I used to reboot a couple of times then i would have sound, but that does not work anymore. I tried changing the card's pci slot but nothing has helped. I still get no sound and the vortex 2 is not in the control panel. Please help. Is my card busted. malachi

Many have had problems with latest Vortex2 drivers or so I have read.
Personally, I use older drivers which work great for me. They are Version 4.06.2035 which are still available on the Aureal website.

Did you chek in you device manager.
sounds like a resource conflict
