Stupid Win98 Wizards
I've just installed a new printer on my Windows98 system, the HP Deskjet 697C. I installed the software and drivers with the HP disc that came with the printer. My problem is, every time I boot Windows98, it says new hardware found and wants to install the drivers for the printer. Well, I already installed the drivers with the HP disk and the printer works fine. Even when I unchecked floppy drive, CD ROM drive, etc.…
The new hardware wizard still finds the drivers for my printer on the hard drive in the driver database. It says the driver is in C:\WINDOWS\INF\MSPRINT3.INF. Should I delete this file, or is there another way around this?
Is Windows98 that stupid? That it can't even detect that I already installed the drivers for this device?
