Lightbulb Failure to boot after bios upgrade

I recently upgraded my PRM-0076I E0 motherboard from bios version 1.03
to version 1.07 using the flash utility program and bios upgrade
    downloaded from the DTK website.
The computer now gets to the message "Building DMI pool" and goes no
    further.
I have tried various changes to the bios setup, but nothing I have done
so far gets me beyond the message.
I cannot reinstall the old bios, which I saved to a floppy, becuase
there is no way I can boot the machine.
Is there any way to get this machine working again?

I know that the battery only resets the CMOS but I would try unpluging computer and removing battery for 5 secs. If that don't work then...

I haven't had this happen myself but have heard the same thing where they had to get a new BIOS chip from the Manufacture of the board.

    Help this helps,
    Carl

Thanks Carl, but I think the only way is to find an eeprom burner and try again.

Try reflash using a simple DOS floppy, running the flash from a one-line autoexec.bat file. Often this will work.

At what point do you get this message? Please provide step by step of what happens up to this point. Which BIOS do you have? Have you tried to dump the old CMOS settings by changing the CMOS jumper as suggested already? Have you set the BIOS to "load BIOS defaults" to boot the first time?
