PCI-Firewire400 Card 3+1-What for is the internal power-connector?

there is a power-connector-identical to the one used for floppy-drive.
We bought this pci-card(will be replaced by pci-express when arrived)to connect dvi-videocam to pc.

    What is the power-connector for?
Connector for 5 or 12V power requirement from the computer power supply
First thought it will not work without power there. Thanks a lot.

For more power than the slot can provide. You see the same thing on video cards.

i have seen a version with molex. since on i7 mobo i only see sata-cables i would need an adapter.
let wait the pci-express from asia. will just check how that is locking.
the newer second pci-card is now mounted. maybe lack of additional power caused the sound-problem.
can we clean the head(s) with alkohol in dvi-camera? it seems video is running 1:1 when copied to pc only sound-transfer from music-cassettes is much quicker.

70% or higher alcohol is needed. 90% os what I use.

Sound transfer like will be faster as it is smaller.
