Testing Firewire Transfer-time with PCI and PCI-Express-cards
We added a PCI-Firewire-card to an i7-PC. We will get also a PCI-Express-card.
Its for connecting a DV-videocam to it.
I myself would have a WD-enclosure with firewire-option. esata, usb 2.0 and FW.
Maybe best testing speed by using the enclosure and not the camera. Is there a difference when measuring speed-difference?
for the enclosure i would use a linux-installation-file.
which file should i use to transfer to DV-cassette? Memory Stick is for images only.
or should we film over a longer time?

Well, if you can not tranfer the linux file to the memory stick, then you have no choice but make a larger video file.

Ok will check if i can get right-sized MS.
this one Linux mint 64 bit 1.6gb?

Nice size.
Spent time yesterday updating 4 of my 3 TB USB drives, after extracting 37 GB of pictures from disks.

Just thought about whether you have 4tb hdds.....
They are more videos than pictures. right? or are pictures meant video in the usa? or rather movies?

If i am comparing my pc-situation with others i am stuck in stone-age time....but maybe better being miles ahead with ideas. better stable than quick and the opposite.
