    Win7-Computer-Verification-Which MOBO etc.

On winxp-pc one needed a program for displaying technical data of PC.
On win7 is this already built-in? If yes how to display.
Maybe collegue installed win64-version for which his pc is not ready.
I thought there a 4gb-barrier for win64. One would need 8gb min. for installation.
But i have seen or read about pc running 64bit with 4gb ram.
yes i know of a program telling me if i can run win7. Thanks

    Probably want to use
    Code:
To start this one, Run > type msinfo32 > hit Enter.

Wrong. 64-bit windows allows you to install more than 4GB of RAM. It's not a requirement.

So with winxp-when 8gb is installed i cannot use it or not all 8gb is used?
so if i have win7-64-option better installing 64bit since some software only in 64bit. and quickly getting another 4gb to make it run quicker.

Most people use 32-bit XP. You're limited to about 3.25-3.5GB of usable memory. This is true for all 32-bit Windows OSes

I wouldn't get more RAM unless you already have an SSD. Going from HD to SSD is the biggest performance jump, in most cases.

X86 [32-bit] limit has always been 4 GB of ram. Which gives you about 3.25-3.5GB of usable memory.

    Check out this link.

x86 = 32-bit. If you have a 64-bit CPU, then you can install 64-bit Windows. You don't have to install 8GB first.

As long as the cpu is 64 bit , like Mk says, you can install the 64 bit OS.

You can install with just 1 GB of ram, but expect the computer too be slow.

Add ram later if you wish.

    Ermöglicht gleichzeitiges 32- und 64-Bit-Computing
if that is only telling 64bit?
