USB-Docking Station with eSata in slow usb 2.0-PC?

My ASRock a livedual esata2 has only two speedy SATA-slots. two additional slow sata-ports for internal use.
the second of the main speedy slots is for external use called esata.
now i have found this cheap 10 euro usb-docking-station with usb-support.
    http://www.usb-center.de/usb-kabel-u...ion-equip?c=51
I am using an orico usb3 docking station for ONE 3.5-hdd. it has also esata. but pc has slow usb 2.0 only.
    so the questions are.
    1. does this usb-docking-station make sense to attach docked drive with esata-option?
why not simply use usb-cable since it would no be speedier right? could be tested, how?

    2. even when using on usb3-pc esata-cable on this docking-station would not make it quicker or do i err?
    Other solved problem also usb-related
    USB-Hub
I am using an usb-hub with psu which i have shut down since i am using only audiostick, second cardreader and cameracable. it this not wise? there was an interference blocking writing on SD-card on internal cardreader when card was switched without logout(one had to restart pc). with usb-cardreader one could at least set slot off and on again to revive the reader after logout.

To view the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power check box, follow these steps:
    • Click Start, type device manager in the Start Search box, and then click Device Manager in the Programs list.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue.
    • In the Device Manager dialog box, expand Universal Serial Bus controllers, right-click USB Root Hub, and then click Properties.
    • In the USB Root Hub Properties dialog box, click the Power Management tab. The Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power check box is displayed.

good to know. but its not about saving power. when shutting down not only pc but also psu internal cardreader-despite not connected to external usb-hub still was showing red led.
If i will have problem with device on hub i will reconnect psu. is this the right word for netzteil. the same for small and big ones on or not on cable?
What i always wanted is temporary shutting down unused dvd-burner.

Is the external USB hub self powered?

Remember USB has a 500MA limit.
