Green or Mainstream? 2TB WD HDD

Have Desktop model-version of WD 2TB HDD.
Now which one do you advise:
Green with 5400-7200rpm intellipower or Mainstream 7200rpm? the latter is a bit more expensive.
Using as partitioned systemdrive win7-32. 200 mb-systempartition right? incl. programs

WD changed their naming a while ago. Green is the older model. The Mainstream are the rebranded Green drives. They are basically the same. Mainstream drives have a max of 7200rpm, but both are listed as "variable" rpm.

Post the specific model numbers you are looking at.

That being said, I wouldn't choose either one as a boot drive. I'd go with an SSD for sure. You can get a smaller SSD, like 120 or 240GB as your boot drive and a hard drive for storage.

Also check if the drives have "Intellipower". That is only a feature of Green drives.

I'd go with an SSD drive as well: although more expensive but that extra speed coming with SSD drives really worth the price...
