Workaround when 3gp and mp4-music- and some mp4-videofiles are not assiciated anymore. they show ft0000n(n=number which will increase after every incident.
1. go to admin-account. remove mp4 and 3gp when there. reestablish both.
done
no need to deinstall flv-and mp4-splitter.
will now leave regvac alone using only newest ccleaner and tfc and report what will happen. and defraggler from time to time.

Regvac is guilty-Removed
Regvac-older version is guilty to remove 3gp and mp4(music and video)-associtations.
to cure one msut reassociate in both restricted and admin.accounts. restricted must have admin-right.
Regvac is now removed-Finito all these problems.
would like to know when having newest version. But i will leave it alone.
-
Other filetypes also affected
flac was also affected. will leave alone MKV video-filetype and a4v. they will be associated when i will need them in a special video-program
-
Reg cleaners cause fits. And probaly why you have been having so many problems.
Why I gave up after having to do a clean install.
-
mov had also to be reassociated. thought about purchasing another set of 4gb ram, need it anyway for later win7-64. but will start with new 2tb-hdd and new winxp-installation. when bluescreen is restarting i can always switch MOBO. but wouldnt it be wise to do that right beforehand? or maybe now to check of bluescreens will be gone?

But the clean install most likely will get rid of blue screen.
If it comes back, then it most likely is a hardware problem.
But let us find out if it is a software/driver problem first.

Lets discuss that bluescreen/reboot in the other thread. just wanted it to mention here for new hdd-installation.

I have opened a different thread about new MP4-problems(also FLV affected) ocurred after defraggler run. Had the same already and solved the same way.
-
could now see the same problem coming again when:
in ccleaner i used registry cleaner.....video is starting but the ending is ft000019.

should read:
remove mp4 and 3gp, redo association when set.
done

i had to reassociate flv and 3GP. to match video and music-files in both accounts.
Unclear is how to display filetype. sometimes its showing up sometimes only show "Windows Media-Audio/Video-files. but i need to see flv and 3gp .

Give up on that mess!.
-
on isolated music-folder i see now ft000014. but the problem is: i dont know which file-format. most probably flac. and some of them, recovered files(i already discussed) are still associated with mov-files showing video. no sound. will now first reassociate FLAC.
all in all winxp is stable.
