Defraggler not showing empty space(white zones)
Defraggler not showing empty space(white zones)
why does defraggler not show them?
have 34% left but difficulties defragging videos.
-
I lost quite a few because of defragging them.
-
Only lost quite a lot after that crash where i had to restore with testdisk rsp. knoppix live-dvd.
Defraggler is working again slowly after fresh installation, removing with revo and regvac-cleaning.
its counting down from 18.6 gb.
I encountered other problems with mp4 and 3gp(music)-files.
didnt start and/or not associated with wmediaplayer.
main did not help: installation of ffdshow or haali matroska-splitter(there is also a gabest-version but i dont know when must be used one or the other.
instead i removed or deactivated every video-codec or splitter. lav-splitters, flv-splitter, ffdshow.
than reinstalled only lav-splitters. it is also needed to make mov-files run in WMP. than reactivated mp4-splitter and flv-splitter. with the latter not in the dos-window like mp4-splitter must be installed by default but with this command:
regsvr32 "C:\FLVSplitter\FLVSplitter.ax"
beforehand directory must be set and file installed there.
for other video-programs ffdshow must be installed too.

Empty space-white zones are back! What a surprise, i didnt expect!
Every now and then windows and its programs has "Macken", is "zickig". Thats why we say in german.
-
defragging worked, there is still defragged empy space. maybe better leaving that alone instead of "verschlimmbessern" making it worse.
MP4-files are not associated anymore and filetype is now named ft000008.
last time it was ............7.
I know at least how it was cured since reassociating did not help.
running regvac immediately helped. we will see this time. maybe i must do the associating-step beforehand. will first try without.
winxp
Interestingly some of the problems with certain files not running was only true in the account where i saved them from internet, in restricted account.
at least true with the 3gp-audiofiles.

SOLVED
MP4-problem showing filetype ft000008 solved like last time. MP4-filetype now showing.
RegVac and restart was enough.

Defragging empty space-again:
When that partition was defragger i did an empty space defragmentation -defragging allowed. Afterwards the file-defragmentation went up from 18 to 53gb! Defragged again partition showed bad drive. After cleaning in windows xp everything ok again.
It is the partition where the saved data(from that crash) is stored again, where partition D and E are united. D + E are now E, D not present anymore.
-
My guess hdd replacement time. Surface is messed up on the disk.
-
Drive is new. I am not working on the messed up drives. it contains only the saved data. ok maybe unifying D and E is the problem. Maybe new installation. Should have left the old videocard when switching MOBO and only afterwards having installed new card. still bluescreens sometimes, pc rebooting. sfc /scannow didnt help.
its not a big problem since i now know what should not be done.

remove aec.sys virus:
Remove aec.sys virus. Remember that although many files are always in default file locations, some files can easily be moved to different locations or change names like many spyware, adware, or popup programs do. If you suspect you have spyware or adware, check to see if you see a similiar names stored elsewhere. It always helps to check your tasklist also to see what is currently running on your computer. You can always view the tasklist on your computer by pressing ctrl-alt-del to view your "task manager", and then click the "processes" tab. This will show you all tasks running on your computer. Dll files will NOT show on your computer tasklist, as dll files are actually part of other processes. You may see similiar program names running if spyware or adware is on your computer, for example, ati2evxx.exe may be slightly misspelled to keep you from finding it, or spyware and adware may be named very similiar to a system file. Make sure always check the location of tasks or processes if you are concerned.Remove aec.sys virus |
