NONSOLED
Still have sporadic problems. PC booting up to login. Then after logging after a longer time: Memory management bluescreen with succesfull reboot.
this time its showed the autochk.exe warning: not found. but its there in system32-folder.
I know that. last time i copied the file from a different drive. was unable to extract from winxp-cd.
maybe wise to run chkdsk manually triggered. or is scandisk meant with autochk.exe?

Stick the XP cd in the burner, cancell the install
run sfc /scannow
Thaat should fix the problem, well I sure hope it does.
-
did the sfc but without CD.... without success. Hope this time. thanks.
BTW: beside the actual problem I have big problems to understand if recovery console is included on cd or not.
maybe i need a lesson. you know the procedure where PW as asked but could maybe be overruled.
I should establish a clear instruction.

Console

Trick I used for years.
I copied the XP cd to a XP folder on D\, then used a 98SE boot disk to bootup and type in D:\ XP/cd i386/ winnt and hit enter.
Been a long time but https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/307848

With XP on the hdd, I did not need the cd to run sfc /scannow.

Somewhere(i have started a different thread about the same problem) else you suggested i should remove videodrivers with a special remover. Since the problem started when i not only switched harddrive but also videocard at the same time.
can you pls lead me to that thread or to that tool?

A update to the old driver sweeper I used. guru3d still has it.

Has nothing to do with memory management problem but i am getting the autochk.exe missing-warning after every boot now.
it seem the solution is here:
chkdsk /r
and sfc /scannow
and copying back from cd if needed, maybe also from other system?did this when i had the same problem.
PLUS i will check this:
A registry key with the value "Isdelete" in the location HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\SessionManag er\BootExecute was disabled or something. I re-enabled it and rebooted... and I didn't get the "autochk.exe missing" message again.
UPDATE: do not have BootExecute at this location.
its in sessionmanager004 showing this:
autocheck autochk *
sdnclean.exe

Nothing worked. i could run chkdsk with a bat-file. nothing wrong.
i have checked the other drive which does not have the autochk-issue but it seems it had beforehand. interesting findings.
drive 2-this one with the problem
In currentcontrolset-control-sessionmanager no bootexecute there.
in controlset004-control-sessionmanager i deleted the mentioned entry since in drive 1 there is no entry at all. but it did not help.

SOLVED by old backup
Solved everything(i hope) by restoring 1 month old backup.
before that i ran regvac again but with dangerous setting(cautious items check)
result: all videofiles showed ft0000011 and 12-filetype and association was lost. not only mp4 of flv-files like beforehand.
so only secure-scan-setting is used.
when i tried systemrecovery just before that memory management bluescreen immediately reappeared during reboot.

Wait until you have maybe 10% fragmentation and get those videos on a hdd you do not defrag.
Transfer the videos one at a time and there will be no fragmenting.
-
good tip. i only had to reassociate 3gp and mp4.
