Got USB 3.0? i would use a couple external USB 3.0 harddrives.
1 on site and the other off site.

Is there a specific reason you chose to go with LTO? Have you considered a NAS instead?

How much data are you talking about?

When you say "video backup", is that for archives only?

I'm leaning to LTO because I can take the tape drive out and run.

Have tried hard drives before and just not working out for me.

NAS is NETWORK attached storage. You would transfer data over the network. Some might have USB ports, though.

Please explain. Do you mean you can take the tape out and move it to a different location? Why aren't the hard drives working out for you?

When I say "archive", I mean you will only be backing up the data and storing it. You won't be editing.
